Teachers will share their activity pages, calendars, and SMART files with other teachers within their grade level
Give teachers constructive advice about their pages they created and how to make it stronger
Teachers will be given time to update or change anything they want to change to their pages to make it stronger with the advice given by their peers
Pre-requisite Knowledge:
Maryland Common Core Standards for your grade level
What makes effective SMART Notebook pages (calendars, activity pages and SMART Table pages)
Warm-Up:
Teachers will talk about what they struggled with during the active day.
What activities did they have the most problems with?
What activity do they believe will be the most effective when they use it in their classroom?
Did they get everything they wanted done? If not what do they wish they could have had more time with
After the discussion teachers will group up with 2-3 other teachers within their grade level (if possible) and share their pages with the other teachers. The other teachers will fill out an evaluation form to give the teacher constructive criticism of all of their pages. What did they like about it and how they could have made it stronger.
Procedure:
Teachers will go over everyone in their group's pages and give them feedback on how they can make it better. After the break and after everyone had a chance to get a good look at each of the SMART Notebook pages then they will give their feedback page to each teacher.
After each teacher had a chance to read through their feedback pages they will take the rest of the time to make changes to their pages to make them stronger. This is also a time for teachers to finish things they wanted to get done during the active day but ran out of time doing.
At the end of this day the teacher should walk away with one activity page, interactive calendar and a multi-page SMART Table file which they can implement within their classroom right away.
Wrap Up:
Go over any final questions about what can be done through SMART Notebook and what we have learned through all of the workshops.
Have the teachers take the evaluation of the workshops and how it could become better.
